Valley Plastics buys scrap plastics from industries. In most cases, we pay market prices for the majority
of plastic and paper waste that we process. This includes parts, runners, lumps, purge, floor sweeps and
also obsolete resins. Valley processes all of the plastics and paper it recycles in house.
We are a hands-on processor selling directly to end-user markets.
The companies we service include manufacturers of medical devices, tires, electronics,
hand tools and foam, as well as other injection molders, logistics companies and produce
distributors. Some of these companies have trusted us as their professional recycler
for over a decade. We have also serviced government branches such as the U.S.
Department of Defense and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection for special certified destructions.
We are located in the McAllen Foreign Trade Zone. This is a secure, gated facility
with ‘round the clock security guards. Our customers can rest assured that their
product is in a safe zone before being ground.
For a number of customers, one of the most needed services is the ability to
reuse their own waste streams. We help manufacturers of plastic parts that are
too large for their grinding equipment to process back into a usable size regrind.
Valley Plastics has the proper state-of-the-art equipment to process large bulky
plastic parts into desired 3/8’’ – or even 3/16’’ – regrind flake.
Items include plastic pallets, large dunnage trays, totes and lumps. With a throughput
of 2,400 pounds per hour, we can process large volumes of plastic scrap in a very timely manner.
Clients requiring destruction of sensitive manufactured parts can rely on our services.
A Certificate of Destruction provided to the owner of the material assures accountability
and peace of mind. Industries that use this service include medical device, cosmetic, toy
and electronic manufacturers. We have also serviced government branches such as the U.S.

In addition to plastics, we also provide paper waste processing. We have horizontal and vertical balers
capable of processing all paper waste. Agreements with large internationals paper mills provide Valley
with strong partners to purchase the different paper grades generated by our customer base.

We focus on testing plastics and provide fast turnaround for many critical tests including:
- Recycled plastics identification ID testing and analysis service.
- Additives in the plastic – BPA and phthalates, types and estimated amounts.
- Plastics identification – ID plastic code type, contamination, ash and filler type.
- Mechanical testing – tensile strength, flexural modulus, and notched Izod impact.
- Thermal analysis and testing by differential scanning calorimetry, thermal gravimetric analysis and dynamic mechanical analysis; measure percentages in blends and products.
- Rheological properties of plastics and polymers using melt rheology, capillary rheology, melt flow rate, melt flow index, viscosity number, IV and viscosity testing.
- Analytical testing of plastics including fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), additive analysis, and chromatography (GCMS and HPLC).
Valley Plastics has the ability to provide limited warehousing of plastic, paper and metal waste streams of our active customers with 60,000 sq. ft. of space located within the secure McAllen Foreign Trade Zone in McAllen, TX.
Our warehouse is also equipped with a surveillance camera system watching all areas, including docks from inside and outside.
We have developed relationships with a number of freight forwarders in
Texas and Mexico to provide consistent and reliable transportation services as needed,
including the spotting of trailers and the transfer of material into and
out of the United States.
